Your hosts
We lived for 23 years under the sun of the Island of Beauty. I taught hospitality and catering at the Fred Scamaroni high school in Bastia, while my husband developed a passion for supporting market gardeners and citrus growers in the eastern plain, in both conventional and organic farming.
There, we built much more than a life: a family story. We were fortunate to watch our three children grow up in a preserved environment, rich in nature, culture, and simplicity, in tune with the rhythm of the seasons.
From those years in Corsica, we carry a deep imprint. Strong connections and a rare human richness.
Today, a new chapter is being written at Le Moulin de Charrier. It is a heartfelt adventure, driven by the desire to welcome, to share, and to bring this historic place to life.A heartfelt adventure, driven by a desire to welcome, to share and to breathe life into this history-laden place.
The wish to return to our roots and our families had always been present, but the year 2024 marked a decisive turning point. My mother, Patricia, who had purchased the mill in 2006 with her husband Bernard, passed away suddenly.
For more than 18 years, they devoted their energy and their hearts to bringing this place back to life: renovating the buildings, creating a group lodge, restoring roofs, adding a mural, caravans, photovoltaic panels, the restaurant terrace, the campsite facilities… not to mention the rodet watermill and its basin. They turned this wonderful place by the Besorgues River into a lively and welcoming space, ideal for meetings, reunions, and cultural exchanges—especially during the European Mill and Heritage Days in May and September.
To carry on this legacy and preserve the soul of the mill, we chose to step out of our comfort zone—leaving behind the national education system and our life in Corsica—to take up the torch. Like Patricia and Bernard before us, we are embarking on welcoming groups and guests from all walks of life, developing permaculture, and offering food services so that you too can discover this magical place, where terrace farming and chestnut groves blend with the culture of taste and the history of stone. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
