Your hosts
We spent 23 years under the sun of Corsica. I taught hospitality and catering at the Lycée Fred Scamaroni in Bastia, while my husband developed a passion for supporting market gardeners and citrus growers in the eastern plain, in both conventional and organic farming (clementines and other citrus fruits, melons, vines, kiwis…).
There, we built far more than a life: a family story. We were lucky to watch our three children grow up in an unspoilt environment, rich in nature, culture and simplicity, living at the rhythm of the seasons. From those years in Corsica, we carry a deep imprint. Strong bonds, a rare human richness… and above all the immense generosity of our Corsican friends, which continues to stay with us. Today, a new chapter is being written at Le Moulin de Charrier. A heartfelt adventure, driven by a desire to welcome, to share and to breathe life into this history-laden place. And it is with joy and simplicity that we invite you to be part of it.
The desire to return to our roots and our families had always been there, but 2024 marked a decisive turning point. My mother, Patricia, who had bought the mill back in 2006 with her husband Bernard, passed away suddenly. For more than 18 years, they devoted their energy and their hearts to bringing this place back to life: renovating the buildings, group cottage, roofing, fresco, caravans, solar panels, restaurant terrace, campsite facilities… not forgetting the rodet mill and its basin.
They turned this wonderful place on the banks of the Besorgues into a living, warm space, welcoming encounters, reunions and cultural exchanges — particularly during the European Mills and Heritage Days in May and September. To carry on this legacy and preserve the soul of the mill, we chose to step outside our comfort zone — the national education system and the lands of Corsica — and take up the torch. Like Patricia and Bernard before us, we are embarking on welcoming groups and guests from all walks of life, embracing permaculture and catering, so that you too can discover this magical place where terrace farming and chestnut groves blend with a culture of taste and the history of stone. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
